SENSATION, INTEGRATION AND RESPONSE

The nervous system is involved in Sensation, Integration and Response.

Example:

Sensory nerves in the PNS, such as proprioceptors which detect changes in muscle tension and length, send signals to the CNS for integration (analysis). From there, a signal is sent to innovate the appropriate action.

TYPES OF NEURONS

Neurons are categorized into three types:

Sensory Neurons: These are triggered by physical and chemical inputs from your environment – touch, temperature, sounds and light are physical inputs, and taste and smell are chemical inputs.
